aftermarket head unit and 2 subs? i recently went in to get my amp fixed at a local shop. While doing the procedure the audio guy told me that by not bypassing the factory amp my sound was being distorted. Is this true? or was he just trying to tac on the bill. if it is true is it something i could do?

He feed you a line of crap, since the car more than likely did not come with any sub installed in it. There for the amp was running to your full range speakers, just like it would have from the factory to your speakers. The subs are an add on, which would require an add on amp for them, so there would be no distortion to the speakers what so ever. They ripped you off is what they did.
